Express Entry in 2016

Express Entry

CRS points required to get an ITA are expected to decrease in 2016

Applicants in the Express Entry pool, as well as those considering entering the pool in 2016, have a reason to be optimistic.

Before the launch of Express Entry in January 2015, CIC had collected many applications by increasing the intake quota in the second half of 2014. This was done in anticipation of a slow response to the program in 2015. Applications thus collected were processed throughout in 2015 as per old criteria while fewer applications were processed from Express Entry pool keeping the threshold level very high.

The number of invitations issued per round is expected to increase as most of the pre-Express Entry applications having been finalised. To meet Canada’s immigration quota, it is also expected that the minimum score of those that are invited to apply will drop.
